Mark Rinker was born a flatlander, spending his childhood summers on Iowa’s Big Spirit Lake. Mark and wife Marti are avid boaters who fell in love with cruising on Minnesota’s St. Croix and Mississippi rivers. In recent years, they expanded their boating horizons aboard a Sea Ray 410, cruising Lakes Michigan, Huron and Superior. Many nights they anchored among Bayfield, Wisconsin’s fabled Apostle Islands and wreck dived off their boat with family at Isle Royale, Michigan. In 2013 they relocated from Minnesota to Seatle bringing “The Lost Islander” along where it is now moored in the fresh water of Lake Union.
I met Mark while on a cruise with the Bellevue Yacht Club in the Spring of 2015. Through casual conversation Mark mentioned that he was a Yacht Broker. However, Mark never once suggested or pushed his services. After the course of many such cruises, I got the opportunity to get to know Mark on a personal level, and felt that his knowledge of the boating industry, and his personal ethos and integrity, were the combination I was looking for when it was time to upgrade our boat.
Mark was instrumental in helping my wife and I sell our Sea Ray 280 Sundancer, and purchase a Meridian 391. Mark was very purposeful as he helped us make sure that the 391 was the boat we were really looking for. Once we found a 391, Mark took the time to help us through the entire process, including two trips to Vancouver Island and a flight to Friday Harbor.
Mark also helped us with recommendations for services, such as financing, without showing any bias. He was even able to get Denison to step in to help with the highly complex process of buying a Canadian boat.
Ultimately Mark was a trusted advisor for us as we worked through the entire process. On countless occasions Mark was the calm sounding board that helped my wife and I through the emotional ups and downs.
I could not recommend Mark more highly!

His knowledge of boats and boat systems combined with honesty, follow through, and transparency is exactly what the industry needs and should strive to match.
