I joined the BYC in January 2022. It’s a great group composed of diverse people from all walks of life. The main interest is cruising and there are cruises every month to some destination within Puget Sound. There’s no social headquarters because that’s not the club’s goal. Also the Small dock in Kingston is for those who moor within Lake Washington, so they can get out before weekends in the summer and bypass the Locks craziness. Nowadays the majority of members moor at either Shilshole or Elliott Bay, so there’s always space in Kingston.

Cruises are very well organized and typically begin Friday evening with a Happy Hour. Then a dinner on Saturday, and sometimes, breakfast on Sunday. It’s a great and inexpensive way for new boaters to get introduced to Puget Sound, and meet a very interesting, unassuming, unpretentious group who get together for the Love of Cruising.

Jon was fantastic to work with. He found us a pristine Searay, helped us as first time buyers, and even guided me on financial options and alternatives to get the boat of our dreams. Once financing was arranged he negotiated a deal that was mutually beneficial for us and the seller. It was a long transaction which took three months to complete, but Jon kept us informed and appraised of what was going on. He earned our trust and respect and when time comes to move on we will work with him again.
