SV Bimi, a Seattle landmark
Bimi is a unique, colorful 32 foot wooden Gaff-Rigged ketch, built in the style of the early East Coast catboats in 1955. Bimi sports an enormous cockpit and lots of colors which help provide a sailing celebration to remember! Her wide cockpit and “beamy” design provide a stable platform for sailing, and her blue hull with red and yellow gaff-rigged sails invite attention wherever she sails.

This luxury power boat option offers the opportunity to not only see the city waterfront up close, but also to explore “around the corner,” past Alki beach and West Seattle, over to remote Blake Island and Blakely Harbor on the far side of Puget Sound towards the majestic Olympic Mountains. Moored near the locks, we often cruise the protected inner waterways, exploring the commercial ship canal, houseboats in Lake Union, Gas Works Park, the Center for Wooden Boats, and out past UW Husky Stadium across Lake Washington towards Bill Gate’s compound. Swimming opportunities abound in the fresh water of Lake Washington and Lake Union. It’s “urban cruising” at it’s finest.
